Keep USF Fair Coalition Action Center

Major phone companies want to reduce their own tax burdens by shifting the current Universal Service Fund (USF) to a flat-fee. Changing the way the USF is collected to a flat-fee could increase telephone costs by 1000% for millions of people -- like you -- especially Americans with limited, fixed and low incomes.

The KUSFF Coalition is working to alleviate the burdensome cost by opposing the flat fee plan. KUSF also supports an alternate proposal that would base USF contributions on minutes of use. This "by-the-minute" plan would go a long way in cutting the costs for low-income consumers, should the FCC pass a flat-fee methodology.
